Shore birds in rainbow tones with absurdly long legs are made from earlier work — cut down, reshaped, and put back into something new.
They’re not placed perfectly. Some lean, some crowd, some feel like they’re about to move or just arrived.
You get the sense they’d fly off if they could, but the stitching holds them in place.

Process
Each piece in Fragments is built through a layered mixed-media process. Backgrounds are developed with acrylics, enamels, and textured mediums, sometimes shaped by weather and time.
The birds are cut from earlier works - fragments reworked into new forms. Every element is placed by hand and finished with a mix of machine stitching and hand embroidery.
Nothing is printed or simulated. Each piece is one of one.
